WoW Challenge Topic 36: Farewell to Legion

Today we’re back with another Blog Challenge from Z and Cinder!

I participated in one of these challenges back in April, but haven’t gotten around to doing another once since then. I hope, as we go into Battle for Azeroth, that I’ll have more time to do these regularly because they’re awesome!!!

So, without further hesitation, the two topics today…

Part 1 – What were your top 3 moments in Legion?

This is an easy one.

  1. Story – After Warlords of Draenor, my wife and I were expecting some awesome story telling in Legion. The initial Broken Isles stories kinda let us down, as they were rather disconnected, but from then on the growing threat of the Legion, the Tomb, and eventually getting to Argus to witness “Rejection of the Gift“!?!?! What an awesome moment that was! The story just did not go in the direction we had expected and it was crazy!
  2. Achievements – The night we punched through the timer and got the “Keystone Master” achievement. What a rush! As well as becoming heroic raiders for the first time ever and eventually locking down the “Cutting Edge: Argus the Unmaker” achievement! We really accomplished a lot with this expansion in the progression department.
  3. Social – The addition of the Balance of Power quest-line, which encouraged players to participate in Group Finder for dungeons and raids, was a big part of what pushed us to become part of the raiding scene. This expansion we found a guild to call home, we met and coordinated all kinds of activities, and I can honestly say this was the first time since Vanilla that WoW became a truly social game for me. Having two IRL friends join up with my wife and I made the experience even more real for us too!

Part 2 – What are you most looking forward to about Battle for Azeroth?

Despite having been a long time (12 years) WoW player, I discovered in Legion that there is a lot to the game that I had yet to experience. I had been inside raids before, but I’d never been there on the front lines, rushing in on opening day to take down the bosses before anyone else!

I had been in guilds before, but I’d never experienced the thrill of knowing a dozen people that would jump on TeamSpeak and team up to take down challenging content with us each week.

I had done Mythic dungeons before, but I’d never pushed my class to the brink with content that could send you away from your computer screen feeling utterly defeated or riding a digital high of victory against your foes!

So, for Battle for Azeroth, I want to continue that trend.

In addition to pushing Mythic+ Keystones and jumping in the new raids on opening day, I also want to dominate the Warfronts and roll over the new Island Expeditions.

I want to be able to say, “I’ve seen it all” when it comes to this digital world, which also means refocusing on Battle Pets, Professions, Azerite Power, etc.

Oh, there’s so much to look forward to that I can barely hold it! Just a few more days before we lock ourselves in for another two year journey and I. CANNOT. WAIT!

Thanks again to Z & Cinder for the challenge topic! This is always a lot of fun!

  1. Great to see you participate 🙂 Remember to leave a link to your post on Z and Cinders site if you haven’t done it already 🙂

Being part of a guild enhances the game in ways one cannot even imagine, until they try it. Wonderful to hear it has opened up a whole new world to you!
