A New Year

Here We Go Again

Look, it’s already January 5th!

I apologize for the relatively light posting during the holiday season. The past few weeks have proven to be far busier than I originally thought they might be, so now I am about to start my work routine for 2020 and I didn’t get quite as far as I had hoped with my personal projects.

Still, in the tradition of my annual posts, I wanted to carve out some time for what we’re hoping to accomplish in 2020.

Creative Writing

In 2019, I was able to publish more than thirty episodes of my science-fiction show Township. Taking on this project has been a huge boon to my creative writing, while also helping me learn more about photography, production timelines, and time management in my work/life balance.

I’ve gone back and forth on some things, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to produce episodes as quickly this year, but I am 100% dedicated to finishing Township and the story arc for all of our citizens aboard the World Ship.

I’ll be posting more information about Season 4 in the days and weeks ahead. The good news is that the entire season draft is already written and initial photography started just last night, so it’s not unrealistic to think that new episodes will arrive in February 2020. I’ll keep everyone informed as I push forward with production!

Over the last year, writing Township has become a wonderful thing for my creative writing. I have had ample opportunities to recycle old short story ideas or even plot points from larger stories, and characters that I adored, but assumed to be lost, now have life again.

World of Warcraft

Last year, I made the decision to play less WoW than I had in 2018. I followed through on that promise, and honestly… it was nice. I think we found a good balance for our home, with the game coming in going in bursts while giving me flexibility to do other things, like my creative writing.

The game is getting a major update in January (8.3), so I suspect I’ll be dedicating some time to them soon.

Website Enrichment

One of the projects for 2020 will be adding some new elements to the website that help new arrivals keep track of Township‘s story. Last year I organized all the WoW Adventures content and this year I want to further refine everything so that users can access their pages with as little searching as possible.

I also want to focus on my social presence online, utilizing tools like Instagram and twitter to broadcast new content for viewers!

LEGOs

I’m not sure where this one will go, but I have been playing with the idea of reviewing various LEGO sets as they are released. I have gotten a lot of attention for building the UCS Falcon, so if I can make my voice useful for others, I am interested in pursuing it!

Also… I just like building LEGOs, so expect more of that.

As always, I want to thank any and all who make their way to technicooldad.com and read my content. It means a great deal to me to have a platform where I can share my thoughts, stories, and life in general!

Happy New Year!
