Here we are on day 3 of our advent calendar countdown!!!
Let’s see what we got today…
LEGO City – Police Station
Today’s micro-build is a cool little police station. It used about 20 pieces and while I could see what it was thanks to the nifty shield piece, I’m not sure if this was meant to be a small version of an official set or something unique.
I initially assumed it was similar to the police station from the TV show, LEGO City Adventures, but some Google searches proved that to be incorrect. Likewise, 60246: Police Station, which was released in early 2020, doesn’t really line up with the micro-build.
Regardless, this tiny build gets the job done. I know what I’m looking at and I won’t lie, I’m a little excited about the new Creator Expert set, 10278: Police Station, and this micro-build was a nice reminder that I have less than a month to go before it’ll be in my hands!
Hype!

LEGO Star Wars – Luke’s Home on Tatooine
Today’s Star Wars micro-build is Luke Skywalker’s childhood home. Without a doubt. Initially, I assumed this was meant to be set 75270 Obi-Wan’s Hut, but when I pulled up images of Old Ben’s house from the Star Wars films, I realized they didn’t look similar at all.
There’s just no denying that this small house matches the Skywalker farm, especially with those little alcoves jutting out the sides and the moisture collector in the corner.
At only 13 pieces I am very impressed with the ability to see and recognize iconic locations. The skill of the LEGO designers is always top notch.

LEGO Harry Potter – Durmstrang Ship
Today’s Harry Potter set is a Micro-build. At first the wife wasn’t certain on this one. She pulled it out of the calendar and mumbled, “A ship?”
It took a few seconds and then she recalled the Durmstrang boat and the Yule Ball theme.
Strangely enough, it looks like the last time LEGO released a Durmstrang boat was all the way back in 2005. I had to search Brickset archives to find 4769: The Durmstrang Ship.
A clever build, and around 16 pieces it fits right in the range that we’ve had so far.
This makes me wonder, with the release of 31109: Pirate Ship earlier this year, and of course 21322: Pirates of Barracuda Bay, will Harry Potter fans see a new version of the Durmstrang ship in 2021?!
Time will tell!!!
LEGO Friends – Fireplace
Today’s LEGO Friends calendar set is a quaint fireplace with a hanging stocking! While I’m not super excited with the Friend sets so far, I am happy to report that our daughter put this one together all by herself.
That was exciting enough for this one, and she commented, “how beautiful” it was when she was done. She said she wanted to put Emma there to stay warm, but so far we’re lacking any chairs, so Emma had to stand next to the fireplace while she jotted down her latest holiday wish list.
